FIRST ENTRY
I am beginning research on the events surrounding the Watergate break-in and subsequent investigation that led to the resignation of President Richard M. Nixon. Washington Post journalists Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein used inside sources to break open the investigation. The identity of their main source, Deep Throat, remained a secret for decades after the investigation was over. I believe I will be researching the effects this investigation has on future investigative journalists as it pertains to their use of sources and the amount and quality of information shared between the two.
